Come 18 July, we will be hosting a SWOP! Party @ Tampines 1. For those of you who are wondering what on earth is a SWOP, here’s our brief explanation:
SWOP meet is a gathering of people where you can barter away the fashion items you bought on impulse which others might find more useful. Swopping is an ethical and environmentally-conscious way of getting new wardrobe by cutting down waste. It is a form of recycling and it gives your wardrobe a new life!
Here’s the event details:
Date: Saturday, 18 July 2009
Time: 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Location: Tampines 1, Level 6 Roof Garden (access via escalator next to Amore Living)
Admission: $5 (non-refundable) & at least 5 fashion items
All proceeds will go to Operation Hope Foundation (www.ohf.org.sg), a Singapore based charity organization that helps orphans and the poor through relief and development projects in third world countries.
How it works:
A token will be issued for every fashion item donated. The items must be in good condition. Participants can use the tokens to exchange for other fashion items at the SWOP party. For every additional item, you will be required to donate $5 to the charity. Items that are not taken at the end of the session will be donated to Salvation Army.

* Cozy Corner with comfy chairs and magazines to keep your pals & spouses entertained

Not that I want to criticize but which past past past years/ seasons were these clothes from?
I never see them before -ever in the stores islandwide.
Will there be Singaporean (petite) sizes available?
Hi, the clothes are sponsored by the labels, so we are not sure which season they belong to. The clothes are of varied sizes. We are pretty sure you’ll be able to find sizes suitable for you. Hope to see you at the SWOP!
hi! may I know what do you mean by 5 fashion items?so i can bring belts, sunglasses, shoes also to exchange for token? must my clothes have a brand or so?
Hi, you may bring belts, sunglasses and shoes for the SWOP. But they must be of good condition. The idea is that others will bring fashion items to swop for yours, and there we hope to encourage recycling. Hope to see you at the SWOP!
i went for the swop party, I’m like the 5th person in Q but when i get to rooftop, there’s like only 1 piece left from the sponsors.
