We’re so over the moon!

Mid-Autumn Festival is just round the corner and many F&B operators are starting to deck out their yummy mooncakes.  Have you bought your mooncakes for your loved ones yet?  For those who are dating and married, it’s really important to present them as gifts to your partner/spouse’s parents (speaking from experience… Ha!).

We sussed out some of the mooncakes available at Tampines 1.

BAKERZIN (#01-39/40)

Truffle Mini Snowskin @$4.80 each or $36 for 8pcs

The highly publicized mooncake by Bakerzin – Sesame Truffle Mini Snowskin

This unique mooncake's sweetness is just right, except the snowskin is a little soft. This mooncake needs to be refrigerated at all times. We rate this mooncake 4 out of 5 stars.

Mini Truffle Snowskin - Single Malt Whiskey. This mooncake tastes better than it looks. No worries on the alcohol level as it is fit for children's consumption. We rate this mooncake 4 out of 5 stars.

EMICAKES (#B1-15)

Crystal Skin D24 Durian Mooncake @ $14.90 each

We found the snowskin a little thick and hence the mooncake tastes rather sticky. The mooncake does not have a strong durian aftertaste. We rate this mooncake 3.5 out of 5 stars.

YAMAZAKI (#B1-14)

Mini Red Bean Mooncake @ $0.90 each or $3.20 for 4 pcs

Mini White Lotus Mooncake @ $1.70 each or $6.40 for 4 pcs

Mini White Lotus Mooncake with Salted Egg @ $2.60 or $10 for 4 pcs

For those who are worried about putting on weight and yet do not want to miss the festive celebrations, perhaps you may like to try Yamazaki's mini mooncakes. The crust is thin, which is nice. But the mooncakes taste a little dry. It's value for money though. We rate the mooncakes 3 out of 5 stars.

Hoop Hoop Hula!

According to Wikipedia, the Native Americans started using this as a target for teaching accuracy for hunting while in ancient Greece, the citizens used it as a form of exercise which is also what we commonly use it for today.

Yeah! We wish!

With an instructor whom we affectionately known as Mr Green, our gym ball chillers toured the mall last weekend giving shoppers tips on making full use of the gym balls that the mall is giving away.

The gym ball chillers danced to the music of "NOBODY" by Korean Girl band - Wondergirls. We are pretty sure, NOBODY was bored by it

 

 

They also played games with the shoppers.

 

And gave away gym balls to whoever can balance on them

Fats Away!

Exercise balls have been used by several exercise enthusiasts and athletes to tone their muscles and burn calories. Simply replace your chair at work and at home with the ball. And voila, a babe or hunk is in the making…

Ball circles

Sit and balance yourself on the ball, place your hands behind your head and roll your hips in circles. Do 10-20 circles towards your left and repeat to the left.

Seated March  

Sit tall on the ball by straightening your spine and abs. Begin a slow march by alternating lifting your left and right foot. As you get comfortable with the movement, lift the knees higher and march faster. You can also add a bounce on the ball if you feel comfortable. Repeat for 1-2 minutes.

Ball Dips

Sit on the ball with hands next to the hips. Press the hips up and in front of the ball slightly, find your balance and bent the elbows as you lower into a tricep dip. Press the ball to push back up for 1-2 sets of 10-16 repeats.

Exercising with the gym ball helps increase your flexibility, improves your balance, body coordination, strengthens your body cells and lowers cholesterols. It is fun and is suitable for all ages!
