Let’s take a look at the beautiful looks the bloggers have put together!

Make-up description: I was inspired by the beautiful mythological water sprites and forest fairies for this Fairy Doll make-up tutorial. Wanting to channel their glorious resplendence, I placed sparkling rhinestones around my eyes to add a touch of mystical and whimsy allure to my look.

I used an eye-popping contrasting combination of pinkish lavender eye-shadow with forest green eyeliner to represent the mischievous, playful and sprightly nature of these mythological creatures.

Fairies move lightly, and are graceful and delicate with their gestures. To emulate this delightful and tender expression, I chose to use a criss-cross natural designed set of false lashes instead of a dramatic heavier set of false lashes to complete this soft and ethereal eye makeup.

Judges Says: The make-up, styling plus the scenery background produce the look and feel for Fairy make-up look. I like how Peiting mixed pink shadow with green eyeliner that not many people are willing or dare to try. Her overall looks is very pleasant. Loud and creative fairy make-up. Especially love how she used rhinestones to beautify the eyes.

Make-up description: I wanted to capture the shimmery mystical nature of fairies, using green contacts to capture the enchanting eyes, and green being the colour of nature seemed perfect. Since fairies all look like dolls, what really stood out to me was their porcelain skin, white hair and carefree nature. Also since they are mystical creatures, I also wanted a hint of “cartooness” that will bring out their dreamlike qualities.

Judges Says: Should put more emphasis on the shimmery make-up so as to be in line with her theme. More effort should be put in,  in choosing the wardrobe to tie in with the theme. Wendy makeup tutuorial is very easy to follow. Overall she did achieve her dreamlike and enchanting sweet eye make-up look.

Make-up description: I got my inspiration from Galadriel, the elf fairy queen. She is often seen in movies like Lord of the Rings, Hobbits and many more.

As an avid fan of mystical creatures, I adore her deeply. She holds a special place in my memory as the elegant, respectful and beautiful queen. I love her sweet and gentle facial features which makes every angle of her as lovely as an angel. On top of that, her dewy looking perfect complexion adds an additional child-like look in her. To be able to look like her will be like combining the beauty of a pretty woman and the fresh and innocent look of a child. Not only that, she always has got perfect looking hair even in times of distress. Her lovely long hair with the headpiece simply shows how royal she is!

Judges Says: Good inspiration from Galadriel and the achieve the overall look and feel. Kelly has a very interesting steps for her ears. A princessey, dolly and elegant fairy make-up.

Ying Jie

Make-up description: My first thought when I was thinking of my theme is a flower fairy, I don’t know why but I will always link  fairies to flowers. Flower fairies are petite human-like creatures that live among flowers.

I will be doing a normal feature-enhancing makeup look, bling-ing up the look with some hand drawn flower petals at the corner of my eye. I have picked cool colors to work on, mainly purple and white, so that the overall look will be light and dreamy.

Judges Says: Too light make-up and missing of hair accessory that don’t bring out the flower fairy look. Ying Jie was very smart to use an eyebrow palette to contour her face, definitely not many people will thought of. Love how the flower was drawn. However, it’s a little too simple for a fairy make-up look.

Make-up description: My inspiration behind this look will be the Ice Queen from Narnia for the icy and cold look with the combination of Arabian Tale of the headpiece and the head cover.

Judges Says: She is the most impressed among all the bloggers. The dramatic eye make-up together with the hair accessories that capture your eyeballs. Elrica fairy tale make-up is very different from the rest. Especially in terms of the character that she choose. Her eye liner and shadow is definitely a plus point. A different kind of fairy indeed.

Sochii

Make-up description: The earth fairy, also known as an earth elemental, is the nature spirit. Images of fairies have always been depicted as child-like, small but bright. To me, they are somewhat like little dolls that live and breathe in a mythical world that we would never be able to see, except in our dreams, which would be the closest we can get.

Inspired by nature and images of fairies I’ve seen throughout my life, I’ve created this look. Compared to the previous two looks that I did by referencing towards other characters, this is based plainly on imagination and where my brush takes me.

Judges Says: Her make-up did not portray the earth fairy look very much, but I like how she used the flowery crown. This look of Sochii is very soft compare to her previous makeup. It is interesting how Sochii can create an Earth fairy look effortlessly.

Make-up description: I was inspired by the 1950s bombshell- the legendary Marilyn Monroe for this Glamorous Doll makeup tutorial. Her sultry and dramatic cat eye look that I’ve recreated for this tutorial is definitely iconic and very timeless, and adds a touch of whimsy and playfulness to the look.

The flirtiness and delightful appearance of vintage Pin-Up girls from the 50s also played a part in achieving this look. Combined with sexily tousled hair, a lush pink pout and mysteriously lined eyes with the help of the fabulous products from Sasa, I wanted this Glamorous Doll makeup tutorial to pay homage to Hollywood’s hottest siren, Marilyn Monroe, and call attention to the femininity of women, as well as the effortless intensity of a woman’s sensual gaze.

Judges Say: Her pose is really creative but is a bit out of the theme. The overall glamorous look is being blocked by her hand and difficult to give her a higher marks even i I like her drastic eyes make up. Glamourous doll make-up in a cutesy fashion. I don’t really like how she did her tutorial,  I could hardly compare or review her overall make-up or feel.

Total Score (Originality+Creativity+Contents+Voting): 21+21+12+25 = 79

Make-up description: When I think of glamour the first images that pop into my head is feather boas, fur coats and so many diamonds and pearls that you feel amazingly rich.

I especially love the look of old Hollywood glamour, think red lips and luscious mink looking lashes.

Judges Say: First glance I am not attracted by her glamourous look.  I think she can improve hair styling to compliment the overall look.  The only thing I like is her false eyelashes which really catches attention. Her make-up is very different as compared to the rest, especially her bold lipstick which makes her stands out.

Total Score (Originality+Creativity+Contents+Voting): 20+20+12+20= 72

Make-up description: “Glamorous” is fashionable, charming, something unusual and of course beautiful; while “doll” is perfect looking with distinctly big eyes.

Purple was chosen as the color theme as it is a girly color that suits “glamorous” and “doll”, hence the purple eye shadow and the purplish tinge on the lips. I decided on a self-created dramatic eye make up to inject glamour in the look – hence the intense purple eyeshadow used, paired with Super curly lashes and hand-drawn bottom lashes. Gemstones are added to the outer corners of the eyes, to make this look unusual, charming and mysterious. The eyelashes will also contribute to the dolly part of the look, alongside with glossy pouty purplish lips. Base makeup used will be matt, together with a natural peachy blush color to balance out the drama in this look. Lastly, shiny powder will be added to major points of the face to highlight the prominent features. I matched this look with a classy big bun updo as well as a black tube dress to complete the glamorous doll look!

Judges Say: She had met all the criteria of a glamorous doll make-up, but overall look is not impactful enough to match the glamourous theme. Ying Jie took a strong purple as her eyeshadow and her lashes are very eye catchy. But her thick lashes made her eye make-up too top heavy.

Make-up description: The first thing that came into my mind when I think about glamorous… is Barbie. I was a Barbie doll collector when I was young and I always long to be like her.

Popular among girls (and guys) of all ages, Barbie is definitely the most glamorous doll on earth! She has been an important part of the toy fashion doll market for more than 5 decades!! The reason for her undying popularity is her perfect features and glamorous style. Her small face with ever smooth complexion, big blue eyes, small pointy nose and perfect looking lips NEVER fail to stun me with her beauty. Always donning with beautiful clothes and beautiful hair, one could definitely imagine what a glamorous date she would be if she’s a real person! She is perfect at every angle, looking glamorous and gorgeous always!

Judges Say: I like her makeover which really look like a Barbie doll, especially with her full golden hair. Indeed glamourous and Barbie alike. Her tutorial include both make-up steps and personal reviews which are useful and informative for her readers.

Make-up description: Manufactured by the American toy-company Mattel, Inc. and launched in March 1959, Barbie have been the iconic production of Mattel Inc. With over 50 years of history, Barbie is a fashion doll that set standards for the ideal woman. Light blond volume hair, large blue eyes, luscious lashes, pouty lips and a perfect body with matching long legs.

My look is strongly influenced by Barbie as Marilyn Monroe. The glam fashion doll meets glam American sex symbol, what can be more glamourous than this combo?

Sasa brings in the strongest makeup items, which helped me in creating a strong look which suits the theme to a “G” for GLAMOUR.
Strong eyes and lips are the focus point of this makeup, and sadly I could not secure a blond wig or dye my hair blonde to get that blonde bombshell look like Barbie or Marilyn Monroe but i feel that i rocked my own tresses.

Judges Say: She has chosen Marilyn Monroe as her inspiration, who is the sex symbol in everybody’s eyes.  Sochii has spent time dressing up, styling her hair and accessorize herself to suit the theme. She portrayed a very glamourous look spotted in the late 1950-1960.

Make-up description: I was inspired by the exquisite likes of Marie Antoinette and the strikingly attractive Etude House brand ambassadors like Shinee’s members, Sandara Park from 2NE1 and Krystal and Sulli from f(x) whom I harbour a deep admiration for.

The Ulzzang culture is another influence which I drew from as I’m captivated by their flawless appearances. Their huge doe eyes and luminous complexions are oh-so-charming, thus I wish to emulate their innocent appeal and allure in my Porcelain Doll makeup tutorial.

Judges Say: Her makeup was slightly different from the rest especially with her dotted line cheek, other than that, this make-up look does not exercise creativity as it is commonly seen. Blog post was over cluttered with information. Fonts and colours used in the self-created visuals were also not easy to read.

Total Score (Originality+Creativity+Contents+Voting): 21 + 21 + 10+ 25 = 77

Make-up description: My inspiration for this tutorial is the pretty porcelain looking Ulzzangs and Korean style innocent make up mixed with the super pretty dolls by Volks, which is a japanese brand of doll manufacturer that makes perfect looking dolls.

The most important part of this look is creating a beautiful porcelain skin base so we will be spending a bit more time on the skin. This is complimented by big lenses, elegant lash lines, rosy cheeks and rose bud lips.

Judges Say: I like how her eye make-up was drawn. Her eyes are quite separate that’s why it makes her look like those of porcelain dolls. However, her droopy eyes make her look very sad. A slightly darker tone of lip gloss should be used. Simple and clear step by step explanation provides effortless reading.

Make-up description: I got my inspiration from those pure looking ball jointed dolls like DOLLFIES. I love their big and round eyes, porcelain like smooth skin and perky red lips. They look really innocent and pure with those angel like features.

Therefore, I’m inspired to create their makeup look! This make-up look focuses on the porcelain skin, big doe-eyes and of course those juicy red lips!

Judges Say: Her make-up fits the theme very well, the false eyelashes are very natural looking which gives a more glamorous and vintage look, coupled with well-blended eyeshadows. Description was very clear and easy to understand especially for make-up newbies. Love the extra effort that was put in to create the creative step-by-step guide.

Total Score (Originality+Creativity+Contents+Voting): 26 + 26 + 12+ 10 = 74

Make-up description: Porcelain Dolls are usually perfect-looking with glazed complexion. They have flawless complexion, big eyes, small nose, small mouth and glowy rosy cheeks. I aim to achieve flawless and glowy skin, with big doe eyes and small pouty ombre lips.

I did a natural makeup look – focusing on base make up, contouring and using mostly natural peachy shades. However, I played up on eye make-up with gyaru eye make-up technique to achieve a more dolly look with the fake eyelashes. Lastly, I also worked on the lips, creating an ombre effect and focusing on getting the perfect shape and pout.

Judges Say: Ying Jie gives a very nude finishing look, lips were definitely a plus point. However, her makeup and her features didn’t present herself as a porcelain doll.  It might be due to the angle of the photos. Clear instructions but post may appear to be a little lengthy and cluttered to read.

Make-up description : I am inspired by Song Hye Kyo’s porcelain skin with a little twist by adding dash of dolly sense on faux top & lower lashes, blue contact lens and a round pinkish blushes

Judges Say: The overall make-up focuses more on smoky eyes rather than a porcelain doll themed look. No instructions are written on the step-by-step guide (unless readers were to view the video tutorial).

Total Score (Originality+Creativity+Contents+Voting):
22 + 22 + 10+ 5 = 58

Make-up description: My look is inspired by French/ German porcelain dolls. Porcelain dolls are often portrayed with flawless white skin in fashion shoots, however I’ve decided to adopt an Eurasian look instead, with sun-kissed skin and curls that are soft and can be worn on a daily basis. It’s fun to look like a doll without coming off as scary or deathly pale once in awhile!

Judges Say: Sochii did include French/German inspiration on her final look, but her eyebrow should be on a slightly darker shades. Her look also lacks the pale flawless complexion and rosy cheekbones which was seen on porcelain dolls. Her eyes make up did not create a wow impact.

Total Score (Originality+Creativity+Contents+Voting): 19 + 18 + 11+ 0 = 48

What inspire you to become a beauty blogger?

I’ve always loved make-up and I think I own enough make up to makeover a travelling circus! I love the way that make up can let you become someone else for a day. Whether it is using red lipstick to feel sexy or a baby pink to feel cute and sweet. It’s all about using make-up and style to create your own fun fantasy world; not to hide your face or to cover your insecurities.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I’m very inspired by Korean’s innocent and natural looking beauty. Their make-up base is always about have perfect skin and poreless complexion. When you look healthy and glowy, it’s very forgiving no matter what features you have. Pair beautiful skin with circle lenses to make your eyes look bright and alert, some color in your lips with a genuine smile and you have my favourite look.

Other than make-up, what are your other hobbies?

Apart from beauty and style, I’m really a huge geek. I grew up playing video games such as King of Fighters, moved on to computer games like counter strike and DOTA in Uni and just got really good at DDR as well. My other side is a commercial hiphop dancer!

Interesting facts

I’ve recently developed a lot of confidence through dancing and developing myself personally through books and inspirational people. I believe being positive is the first step to creating a beautiful life. Previously I was your normal awkward, emotional, cynical teenager with crazy Asian parents who told you never to be too crazy or creative.

What inspire you to become a beauty blogger?

I’ve always love to write, and being a product junkie myself, I thought, why not start a space where I can truly call my own! My blog is a platform for me to share my undying love for beauty products and cosmetics. This is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve never looked back since, as cheesy as it sounds.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I’m a big fan of Harajuku. It’s distinct culture and dramatic, crazy styles gives me a drive like no other, inspiring me to think outside of the box when it comes to make-up tutorial. Other influences range from a plethora of anything playful, quaint or fanciful- pin-up girls, vintage make-up, illustrations from artist Fafinette, Alice In Wonderland, and the list goes on.

Other than make-up, what are your other hobbies?

My other love affair besides blogging would be living, breathing and creating art. Like Henry David Thoreau once said, “This world is but a canvas to our imagination.” No words can express how much I adore weaving a story into my pieces- there are neither limits nor emotional boundaries, just pure; pencilled and painted expressions.

Interesting facts

• I’m an ultimate Running Man/ The Simpsons fan
• I have a fear of swimming- almost drowned in a pool once
• I have never flown on a plane before
• I love mixing Indian curry with lots of sugar on my Roti Pratas
• I have 3 pet lovebirds

So, I started to share my tips and tricks about skin care, make up and beauty looks on my blog. Beauty is my forte, this is something that I am very passionate about and one thing that I know I will never get bored with.  I would say it’s the friends and readers who believe in me doing things that I am very passionate about, Beauty. The moment I started as beauty blogger, I was shortlisted as finalist for Singapore Blog Award 2012 and bring home the title of 2012 Best Beauty Blog 2012 – Singapore Blog Award 2012.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I usually gets my inspiration from the things I see, be it flowers, animals or some editorial photos in the magazine, or anything that comes to my mind! Other than make-up, what are your other hobbies?

I love diving! and nothing could be more breathtaking for me to see; below the dark blue ocean lays the beautiful corals and creatures with the most beautiful colorful combination I’ve ever seen.

Interesting facts

I’m a socially awkward penguin that hides everything under my smile, and I would rather snuggle on my bed with my laptop than going to a super hype party without knowing anyone there. And oh, one more..I am a green tea ice cream worshiper and nobody mess with my scoop of green tea ice cream!
